The Algorand Community: Building Momentum

By: Sean Ford

I joined Algorand to be a part of building a global, participative, and growth oriented decentralized economy. The momentum I have seen for what we are building here is special, and I invite you to be a part of it. You — the developers, researchers and programmers — form the innovative engine that will push Algorand forward.

Founder Silvio Micali presenting Algorand at the inaugural London Meetup

To kick off this effort and share our strategy, we’ve been holding meetups around the world, where everyone from developers to enterprises to blockchain researchers come together to network and learn about our platform. We want to help connect more people with Algorand, but just as importantly, we want to help our community members connect with each other.

We’ve seen active community engagement and excitement coming out of our recent meetups in Europe. Last month, we hosted several hundred attendees to our events in London, Cambridge, Glasgow and Prague, where our Turing Award-winning founder, Silvio Micali, was on hand to explain more about how Algorand’s technology works and how it will be able to meet the future needs of the various communities it serves. These events were standing room only, and went late into the evening, but more importantly we started some substantive conversations about how to use and to interact with Algorand going forward.

Questions at the Inaugural Prague Meetup

If you haven’t had the chance to join us yet, we’re looking ahead to our next round of meetups in December. We’ll be traveling around the globe to meet future Algorand community members in Canada, Turkey, Israel and the UAE. Join us face-to-face and talk about how you can get involved with our growing community.
